The information on a Death Certificate
depends on the person supplying the
initial information. Whenever possible
I always order Death Certificates, it not
only provides the mother's maiden name
(if known) and place of birth of parents
it also gives a medical cause of death.
It is one way to compile a medical history
of your family.

A copy of the obituary could list brothers
and sisters of the deceased and maybe
parents. Sometimes they are a gold mine
and other times you will not be able to
locate one.
