You're right, Dottie, there aren't a lot of IL Pinckard researchers, but there are a lot of P's from IL. They had big families or as my gmother said, "If they didn't, it sounded as if they did". She knew Nathaniel's son, James B. who was her step-grandfather and her husband, my gfather's grandfather.

of William Green and Ann Coleman. William Green was the son of Robert Green who with
his uncle, Sir Wm. Duff, bought huge acreages
in the late 1600's early 1700s in Shenandoah
Valley in VA. Lucy is NOT the sister of Gen.
Nathaniel Greene as some insist-there's no connection. The P's and these Greens are from around Fauquier Co. VA.
Nath's second wife was Mary Garretson Amos, my 2nd ggm, who was the first (or 2nd) American baby b. in Ill. Territory.1782.
