Dear Jennie,

I'm a descendent of Robert and Jane Pinkard through their son Benjamin. I found them in the 1850 census in Cedar county, MO. Robert was listed as "age 43 and a blacksmith." By the 1860 census, they had moved to Pink Hill post office, Sniabar township, Jackson co., MO. where Robert is listed as a farmer. So it appears that they were in VA in 1840, and moved to MO between late 1840 and 1850. Incidentally, I was able to visit Old Lobb cemetary in June 1999 but was unable to find their headstones. I was always intrigued by the cemetary listings where Jane is listed as dying after Robert remarried (apparently Lucinda?). Jane is shown as being buried in the same cemetary, so did she and Robert divorce?

Another confusing item has to do with their daughters Lucinda Jane and Martha. From what I've found, they are buried in Green Chapel cemetary, also in eastern Jackson county and died the same day (9/16/1858). Wagon accident, epidemic, or...?
