Page 172 of "Pioneer Families of Franklin County Virginia" by Marshall Wingfield lists the descendants of Capt. John Pinkard. He had a son named Benjamin and a grandson named Benjamin. Dates are not given but the latter could be about the right age to be the one you are looking for. It says, however, that he married "Julia who lived in Missouri."
