We have a connection with Capt. John Pinkham. Joan Bottomley was a Skinner. Capt. Pinkham was married to Elizabeth Skinner. John died April 1, 1914 aged 66. His grave is in a cemetary in Kingsbridge, Devon.
This inf. seems to connect. The Skinner family is still in the area.
