I would love to help. Nellie Pinkham is my great great Grandmother. Her Parents Names are: Daniel C. Pinkham and Her mother is Nancy Overlock. Nellie's Marriage record has both Parents listed. She is indeed in the 1880 Census with her grandparents and mother. She is also listed in the 1870 Census. The Census taker, at the time, wrote down the wrong last name. That can happen when census takers get information for the Neighbors or other sources because no one is home. Nancy is difficult to tract down because she was married 4 times. Nancy's second Marriage is to a William W Smith. Her Third Marriage is to Austin Cunningham on 30 Mar 1867, Washington, Knox, Maine. Her fourth marriage is to Albert Dagget on 14 Jul 1877 Washington, Knox, Maine. Nancy died on 13 Oct 1896, south Liberty, Waldo, Maine. Nancy birth is 29 Dec 1831, South liberty, Waldo, Maine.
Daniel C Pinkham is another one hard to tract down. He either died after 1860 or remarried. According to Nellie's marriage record her father was born in Washington Maine. I found a Daniel Pinkham living in Washington Maine in the 1850 Census that fits. If this is him, then his parents names may be John Pinkham and Mary Pinkham (maiden name unknown). As of yet, I do not have vital records for Daniel Pinkham to prove this. Census records before 1880 do not show family relationship. John and Mary could just as easily be an Aunt or Uncle . It is more likely that they are his parents.
Nancy Overlock parent's names are: Michael Overlock and Sophronia Bagley. Michael and Sophronia Married on 20 Nov 1821 in Maine. The name "overlock " is an Americanize version of the German name "Oberlach" earlier generations have it spelled as Uberlach and Ueberlach. I have more information on Michael and Sophronia parents which I will gather and add to my post to your question.
