I am researching my husband's grandfather, Jacob S. PINSKY, who emigrated to the states from Ekaterinsburg in 1905, sending for his wife Golde (Swernofsky) in early 1906. Jacob was born in Odessa and Golde in Minsk. They settled in Philadlephia, where Jacob owned a small convenience store. Their first two children, Jennie and Roslyn were born in Philadelphia. He eventually moved his family to NY, where he subsequently owned other convenience stores in NYC, the Bronx and Yonkers. Their son, Herbert, became and orthodontist, and legally changed the last name to "PINSLEY". If any of this information sounds familiar, please contact me.
