Hi Angela,
Thanks for the response.That's what I've always had for info, but if this statement is correct (and it is from the s/o Eleanor PITCAIRN & William ROBERTSON) there is an age problem;
While reading the autobiography by Rev./Dr. William ROBERTSON, Historian & Principal of the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, he shows his date of birth as 9/8/1721 Borthwick, County of Mid Lothan, Scotland. He states that his father was Rev. William ROBERTSON and his mother, Eleanor PITCAIRN d/o David PITCAIRN of Dreghorn, Scotland. One of the sources shows his marriage to Mary NESBIT in 1751.
This would make it impossible for Eleanor PITCARIN (born abt 1634) to have a child born in 1721?So, there must be another Eleanor PITCARIN married to a William ROBERTSON who are the parents of Dr. William ROBERTSON born in 1721?
Thanks,
