At the Indian Archives in Memo 298, Rolls: 149W&X, Thomas P. Harris (age: 22) gives his testimony concerning his family and his adoption. He relates that he was the adopted son of John E. Harris, the brother of Henry C. Harris. That his father was Thomas Pitchlynn (1/8) Choctaw and his mother was Lizzie Norman. He said that he was born in Red River county, Choctaw Nation and presently lived at Harris, Indian Terr. He believed that his father Thomas Pitchlynn had died while in a Jail at Fort Smith, Arkansas (1885), Thomas Pitchlynn was 25 or 26 when he died. He relates that there is a court case concerning his enrollment (401) Thomas Harris vs. the Choctaw Nation. IF anyone has information on this, please email me or place it on this web site. Bob
