  of 252

This John Pitchlynn was born as Chafataya, but later acquired the Pitchlynn name. He first lived at Broken Bow, then moved to the head of the Kiamitia River in Wade County, the old Choctaw Nation. He was the father of Peter, Thomas, Alexander, and Davis Pitchlynn. Alexander was born in 1861 and lived at Tahina in 1900. Peter Hudson stated in his recollections, Oklahoma Chronicle, that this has caused must confusion because of his name change. Census card number 2192.
