On the Sophia Folsom Pitchlynn who married Major John Pitchlynn. Sophia was born 1773 and died 1871 in Tom, Indian Territory. Her grave is still in Tom, now Oklahoma. It is a state historical marker which indicates that her grave along with others are the oldest such graves in the State of Oklahoma. Major John Pitchlynn is still in Mississippi, died May 20, 1835 and is buried on the Waverly plantation, which is now a country club for the rich and famous. Major John Pitchlynn had a large family and was married twice: 1st. Rhoda Folsom and 2nd to Sophia Folsom. There childrens names were: James, John Jr., Silas, Peter Perkins, Thomas Jefferson, Joseph C, Charles (died young), Elizabeth, Mary, Eliza C.A., Kezzia, Rhoda, and Kate (died young) Pitchlynn.
