John Pitchlynn was born in NC not on Island of St. Thomas. He was born in St. Thomas Parish NC. His Father Issac Pitchlynn was not a british officer, but was indentured to a british mariner Wm Dick in Plymouth England. Issac Pitchlynn did not die leaving John Pitchlynn an orphan raised by Choctaws. All of this is from early books which have long since been proved based on rumors and not fact. We are descendants of Anna Eliza Cornelai Pitchlynn and Wm. Riley Harris. Lila Swink swink1@oio.net
