See the South Carolina Gazette Sept 11, 1762.
John's father Isaac Pitchlynn is listed as an officer in the South Carolina Rangers. He was Leut. Isaac Pitchlynn from Berkeley County, South Carolina. He also owned land in Berkeley and Cravens County, South Carolina. According to Mr George Gaines, John Pitchlynn often related that he was from South Carolina.
