I know it has been nearly two and a half years since your posting but I'm hoping that your email is still valid and that you will get notification of this reply. OR that you may come across this another time. I am wondering if you know if your Jasper Sailes had a subsequent wife named Anna or Annie who died in 1943 or so in Heber Springs AR (of course she wasn't m'd to Sailes when she died, she was m'd to Mr. Lynch). My GG grandmother was Anna (Knight) Bogardus Flack Sailes Lynch (she was married 4 times that I know of). Her Sailes husband was named Jasper and I have found them on the 1920 and 1930 census' in Clay Co. AR. The reason I know for sure that it is them is because Anna's son Claude Flack, my G gpa, is with them on the 1920 and living next door to them with his young family on the 1930. I have a photo labeled "Jasper Sailes" and another photo labeled "some of gma Sailes' family" and this one was taken in Joplin MO 1893. My Claude was born in Jasper Co. MO in 1906. If this is the same Jasper Sailes, I would like very much to hear from you. I don't know anything about Jasper but do have these photos if you're interested in seeing them and I'm curious if you know anything about Anna. OH yes, and the photo labeled "some of Gma Sailes' family" is a woman and man with two little girls, a little boy, and a baby. The lady is dark headed and has thich dark eyebrows and the husband seems to be medium to dark haired. He also looks like he may be squinting or it may be his natural look. The children are light to medium haired. Now Jasper has some very distinctive eyes (droopy eyelids-almost like he is very sleepy or maybe they snapped the photo as he blinked or maybe it is his natural look). My first thought was that the man in the family photo may be the/a son of Jasper but on closer inspection, I think the lady's eyes look a lot like Jasper's and one of the little girls' eyes look similar too. I sure hope to hear from someone about these Sailes'!!!!!
Oh yes, I do know one other piece of info which may help tie us together and may not. I have a copy of a newspaper article about a murder suicide (probably in the 1970s?? it's not dated) between a man and wife and the man's first and middle name is Leroy Jasper "Jack" and the wife's name was Rita. I'll leave off the last name in case it would be offensive to a family member for me to say it on this public domain. The info I got from my gma is that Jack's mother was a step sister to my G gpa Claude. So I have assumed (maybe wrongfully) that the man's mother may have been a relative of Jasper Sailes; maybe even his dtr since she named her son Leroy JASPER???
