When you look for Stephen of NC, there were two, father and son.

Stephen SR. - land grant Anson County, NC 1755, list NC census of 1785 Richmond Co. NC.

Stephen Jr. would be listed 1790 and 1800 census.
He removed to GA in 1800,removed again in 1812 to Fanklin Co. TN, again to Lincoln Co. TN in 1816.
John Pitcock was first on the NC soil,1737.
