Mary, Im John Ford Pittman....Its seema that Capt Thomas started our linage when he came from England to Isle of Surry Va....then some moved to Robson county N Carolina and my linage then moved to columbia/ foxworth. miss.....Marion County about 1811...My great grandfather was borned there in 1834,,,a civil war vet who was in 6th miss and in 21st miss under gen Longstreet....Came home after the war....re-married....had a passel of kids of which my grandfather was the youngest....my grandfather..my father...and I were.... borned in the same house.....My grandfathers siblings moved to Lufkin Tx and DeRitter La.....My great grandfathers name was John Iley Pittman.....We must be kin to half the folks in the South....hope this helps you in your serch....jp
