I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner. Genforum did not notify me of your reply. I show Lida, John Russell, William, Maggie and Mathew as Tilman's children. I have nothing after that. Can you extend those lines for me? His mother was my G-G-G-aunt Sarah McGaughey. Her brother, Samuel was born in 1800 and died in 1878 in Whitfield, GA., and is buried in Varnell Cemetery in Varnell, GA. So your husband's relation to me is through his G-G-grandmother. So we must be some kind of cousin, but I don't know how to figure that stuff out. I just had an e-mail from Keith Pitner about our connection. Have you had contact with him? I would like to know if you have ever run across any McGaugh(e)y's in Dalton. I would love to contact them. Also, there are Nortons, Fagala's, Varnell's and Speer's in my line, all in Varnell. Any help you can give me would be great.
