Hi,
I am a Pitner descendant and have been working on this family line since 1990. Your ancestor (James Pitner) settled in Union Co., Ga ca 1834. I have always suspected that he was related to both John Pitner (who settled in Whitfield Co., GA) and Adam Pitner (who settled in Habersham Co., GA).These men were at least cousins, and very likely, brothers. I finally was able to establish a relationship between James and Adam with a deed record in which Adam sold some peoperty in either White or Habersham Co. (i am going from memory at present) to James. I am virtually certain that they all came out of Sevier Co., TN.

I will add your birth info to my records. I only have a marriage record for Martha and Joseph Watts, I believe.
