I originally posted regarding Martha Amanda Pitner. I received a response tieng her to James Pitner. Thanks! Further research on my part verifies that in the Union County Georgia 1850 census Martha is shown as an eleven year old daughter of James Pitner (41, born in Tenn) and Asemeth Pitner (41, born in Tenn.) This James Pitner also shows up in the 1834 Census of Union County GA. 1834 census identifies James Pitner's family consisting of 2 males and 2 females (James & wife, son & daughter) all four from Tenn.
1860 Union Co. Census shows Martha Amanda Pitner now 21 and married to Joseph M. Watts with 6 month old son Pierce Watts. Any help connecting my Pitners to Tenn. and Joseph M. Watts would be appreciated. I have read accounts of John Pitner in Sevier Tenn having a number of children several of which have not been identified. It does seem clear that a number of the Tenn. Pitners moved to north Ga.
