Very interesting. My great grandfather, John Berry Watts, married Julia Ann (Lila) Pitner. (For a number of reasons, I believe this is the "Letty" Pitner in the 1850 Union County census.)

John B. and Joseph Watts were the sons of William E. Watts, who appears in the Union Co. census of 1850 and the Gilmer County census of 1860.

So it looks like maybe two Watts brothers married two Pitner sisters.
