Erin -- I sent an email to the address you listed, but thought I'd post here too, just in case you've changed email addresses.
My gg grandfather Levi H. Pitner (b. 1849 in PA) was one of 5 known siblings (George, Levi, James, John and Hattie) children of Richard Pitner and Hattie Kinney Pitner. Levi and his siblings lived in and around WV, PA and OH.
His wife was Annie Mayburry Pitner, and in a family genealogy I have, it says that she died enroute back to WV after visiting her daughter (I think it was Mary Pitner Weese, wife of James Eli Weese) in Colorado. She lists some Pitner relatives who lived in Littleton and in the Denver area (I don't have the book with me right now) but I've never really been able to find the connection between my Pitner family and the Colorado Pitners.
I just moved to Colorado about two years ago, and see the Pitner name pop up in this area occasionally. Because it's an unusual name, I can't help but wonder if there's a connection between the Colorado Pitners and my Pitners.
If you're interested, I'll take a look at the family history when I get home tonight and see if I can find the Pitners from our side who settled in Colorado.
Would be interested in any Pitner info you have!
Debbie
