Hello! I am new at this Family Tree business. Your posting is from 2001, but hopefully you are still interested. My father's mother was Anna Placek and I am very interested in Placek background. She was from Dusseldorf and had sisters named Traudel (Trudy), Gustell, Hedwit (Hattie?), Emmie. My grandmother married a man with the last name Lang in the 1940's and she and my father took this name. My father was born Herbert Willi Placek but became Herbert Willi Lang as a young boy. I'm sure there are many Placeks in the world, but you never know, right? Please let me know what Placek's are in your tree and maybe we have a few in common.
