I have come to a dead end on Plachta research right now. However, I am not giving up, and I hope you will keep in touch. It looks like I would have to make a trip to Michigan (probably to Lansing where records are kept)in order to pursue this. The plachta family that I am tied with did live in Detroit. My particular branch moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1956 to work at the Ford Glass Plant. However, there were Plachtas who remained in Michigan. We miss the Polish culture and language that we were once exposed to in Detroit. It seems so long ago.
