I'm glad to hear from you. Since there is not much correspondence on this family forum, I have neglected to check in very often. Can you tell me about your Plachta family in Poland? Is the Plachta name popular in Poland? Are there many Plachtas there? My wife's mother was a Plachta (married to a Kopicko or Kopski). My wife grew up in Detroit, Michigan in an area in which she was near many Polish relatives and in an area rich with Polish language, culture and tradition. We have had a difficult time finding out information on the Plachta family. My wife and her siblings are now located in Nashville, Tennessee and have lost some of that connection with the rich Polish traditions that they miss. We are trying to find out when the Plachtas (or related families) came to America. Also, how do pronounce your first name? Does Katarzyna sound like it is spelled in English?
