hi mr zuccarello,
russia and poland border each other. russia has had a huge impact on polish culture. poland had been a dependent on russian till the world war II. many people from russia and poland moved to either of countries. i have some family in russia. like i said there are not very many people called plachta in poland. i talked to my mom yesterday and she said that it is a very rare last name. whenever i find more information, i will let you know. i won't have any access to the computer from friday night, so dont worry. i will get back in touch as soon as i get back to poland.katarzyna
