Hello Dr. Plant, we have communicated before and since that time, I have found lines that are proven back to and through the Plantagenet lineages: Diana Skipwith, Olive Welby, and John Prescott, Sr.
My husband descends from Olive Welby, my 4th cousin Steve from Diana Skipwith's daughter Elizabeth, and my own line back to the Prescott's of MA. All of us have well documented lineages.
My question: has dna research identified sequences of genetic markers that cross male and female ancestors yet?
Since most folks who know their family history rarely bother to take a dna test, with the proven paper trails of at least the three of us and perhaps others who have this/these proven lineages, we do possess both the data back to 800 and the actual names of the generations between Cherlemagne > Plantagenet's > us.
If the proven descendants of these 177 or so individuals who immigrated to America took a dna test, then anyone who matches a sequence (if known at this point), that all of the proven descendants of Charlemagne/Plantagenet share in common, along with our documentation, couldn't that help others? If not now, wouldn't it be worth taking the test from willing Charlemagne participants today in case a sequence crossing male and female descendants is found at some point in time?
Regards,
Donna Crosby
