I have been hunting my Legnard line with very little luck... it wasn't until I found a power of attorney letter from 1824 to John Legnard from his father Augustine that I noticed he signed it Plantier. I didn't realize Legnard was originally Lagrenade and a title name while the family name was Plantier.
