Mary, you must post much more information than what you have in order for anyone to make commnets on your posting. The Plantier name is indeed French Canadian. You should do as much research within your own family now living as possible, as to who your fathers parents were, and maybe even who their parents were on your fathers side of the family. Talk to relatives who still remember them and particulars about them.Look for copies of Bith, and Death Certificates for information. Once you can follow it back three or four generations, then you will probably be able to see a connection to other Plantiers who vist this site , and then can help you find your ancestors.
