I do not know much about Milton and Sarah Frances except stories which were told to me by my grandmother. I have just begun to search.I know they came to Batesville, AR after a fire completely destroyed their home in Centertown, Mo.My grandmother, Gertrude Frances told me that they lost everything in the fire. They came to AR when she was just a young girl--so I assume the boys were young kids or teens.
They came to Batesville, the McHue community, and bought a good-sized farm.I believe a section of land. There were 3 creeks, one two-story house and one other house there.None of the houses are still standing--but my father remembered them well and staying with his grandparents. They probably raised cotton, had livestock, and had a large vinyard which was still being operated by Ambrose, one of the brothers, and his son when I was a child. A grandson of Ambrose still lives on what is left of the land. His name is Dale Plaster--makes you wonder if Dale was a family name since your dad shares it.
Gertrude felt that Ambrose more or less stole the land from the other brothers and her. They did not speak for many years.
Besides Gertrude and Ambrose, Charles (Charlie) also lived here. Each of them have descendants still in this area. All the other brothers lived in other places. Tom in Joplin, MO and Ed--you know. The rest I don't know.
Interesting fact for you--Deby was a Stewart of the McHue area also. They still have a beautiful, large farm here in the Ozark hills.Wesley Stewart owns that farm now. His family and my family are friends. (MY Grandfather Haertlein's sister married Deby's brother...so we are double kin). His father would have been a brother to Deby.
Well, didn't mean to write an epistle--let's keep in touch.
