Hi Wayne,

My mother is NORA MARIE PLOGGER PAYTON. She is the LAST of 14 children born to JAMES WALTER PLOGGER and NORA MAE SMITH, (of KERRS CREEK, ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, VA.) and she turned 76 this past January. I have been researching my ancestry (Paternal and Maternal) since 1971. I have had more luck with the maternal side than the paternal side.

I can go back to the birth date of JOHN WILLIAM PLAUGHER/PLOGGER and can get no further. I have received a copy of the book that Eli Plaugher has written, but gives no indication of the REAL history of this family....and YES, I do know they are German. I have NO IDEA the region or area they came from!

Would love to correspond with you from time to time referencing this family.

Any answer is greatly appreciated!
RoseMarie - Rosie
