My name is Ellen Ruane. My grandmother's maiden name was Alice Playford. She had a brother named Arthur. I think he died in the 1940's. I am wondering if we are connected and would love to find more info on the Playfords. It is a fairly uncommon name. When I was in England in 1971, I went through the town of New Market and noticed a Playford carpark and Appliance store. I know during WWI my great uncle, Lewis Playford passed through a town on a troop train and his father supposedly told him we were originally from the same town called Stoney Castle. I've never been able to find a Stoney Castle on maps of England. I know my grandmother's family lived in Casspolis, MI for a time. I know my great great grandfather, Stephen Playford was from England. If you have any info, it would be wonderful to hear from you! Cheers, Ellen
