Playford Family Genealogy Forum

Hi - I haven't been on here for several years but here goes. My great uncle George Mayston Playford (born in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England) left Liverpool England in 1913 aged 43 on the Cunard ship Caronia. He was a single white male and was a butler. As far as we can make out he never married but came to the USA to meet his friend a Mr Daft of 145 East 21st Street, New York City. From there he went to Erie in Pennsylvania and was still a butler. He never contacted his family again and that is all we know. I do not have access to any USA documentation and have been relying on friends who do. There are still plenty of us around in Norfolk and a branch of the Playford family went out to Glebe in Australia. I look forward to hearing a) if anyone can shed any light on the above and b) from anyone this has or could help.
