Your grandfather, Damase was married to Marie Mainville and he was the son of Thomas Damase Pleau and of Marguerite Guédry dit Labine. He was born in 1819 and died in Chapeau on 28 march 1887. He got married in 1844. For several years I have searched in vain for their marriage act. The catholic parish of St-Alphonse de Chapeau was founded only in 1846. One of the missionaries who served in this area was Charles Lynch. I could not find the name and location of the parish he was attached to.
I could not trace the origins of this Thomas Pleau. But I am inclined to believe that he is the Thomas Pleau, born on the 19 of january 1819 in Les Écureuils. On this day Jean-Baptiste Pleau and Isabelle Morissette had a son named Thomas of which no further trace can be found in the registers of the parish.
If you wish other information on this family, I will be pleased to share what I have.
