Sarah Pledger was the daughter of Joseph Pledger , ( born Sept 27, 1746 in Amelia Co.,VA, died Dec. 11, 1788 in Marlboro Co.,SC)and his wife, Elizabeth Gardiner, who he married May 16, 1775.
Sarah was the granddaughter of Philip Pledger and Mary Ann Ellis from VA., who later owned lots of property in the Welsh neck area near the Pee Dee River in Marlboro Co.,SC.
Her siblings were 1.William Henry Pledger (md Sarah Strother)2. Elizabeth Pledger (md Charles Strother)3. Mary Ann Pledger4. Joseph Pledger.
Both siblings that married the Strother people eventuallyall migrated to Alabama.
Sarah Pledger was first married to William Griffen Steed, then William Henry Pearson, then Daniel L. Britton.
In Holcomb's MARLBOROUGH CO.,SC MIN. OF THE CO. COURT, page 126, July 12, 1820, Daniel L. Britton having married to Sarah Pearson, widow and admx. of William H. Pearson decd; now the said Sarah and Samuel Townsend the co admin. with her desiring the adm. should be in the hands of sd. Sarah and sd. Danl Britton.
1798, her brother, Wm. Henry Pledger, was Deputy Sheriff of Marlboro Co.,SC
After Griffen Steed's death, she married 2nd, Wm Henry Pearson, son of Moses and Rachel Pearson of Marlboro.Moses Pearson was one of the judges of the courts and prominent in the establishment of Baptist churches. In 1809, she had a paper drawn up putting part of the Steed estate in trust for her heir (s)."This Indenture made this twenty ninth day of Nov. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and nine between William Henry Pearson of the first part and Sarah Steed, widow of Griffin Steed, dec'd of the second part and William Henry Pledger of the third part all of the district & state aforesaid,Witnesseth, in consideration of a marriage intended to be had and solomnizd between the said Wm. Henry Pearson and the said Sarah Steed, the said Wm. Henry Pearson relinquishes to the said Wm H. Pledger in trust for the said Sarah the one third part of the estate of Griffen Steed, to which the said Sarah will be entitiled to , as widow of the aforesaid Griffin , etc...... is to hold in trust as aforesaid for the said Sarah Steed, and the heirs of her body to be equally divided at her death among them.

She had adaughter, Annice Pearson, who married Elias Campbell.
From another source:"A Petition of Daniel R. McColl and wife Delinda, heir of William Henry Pearson...to show accounting for the disposition of the estate of William Henry Pearson...dated 1851."This shows that she had two daughters with Wm. Henry Pearson.
After Wm Henry Pearson died,Sarahmarried (3rd husband), Daniel Britton.
As Sarah Britton in Nov. 21,1851, along with her son, Wm. G Steed, sell for $400.00 to David S. Harllee, all that plantation or tract of land whereon the said Sarah Britton now resides and which she purchased of Robert B. Campbell , formerly of the said State & Dist., 60 acres, more or less, lying on the Three Creeks adjoining lands owned by A. Weatherly, Z.A.Drake and D.S. Harllee.Recorded 16 Dec. 1851.Witnesses: Z.A. Drake, W. H. Deberry
