I am the GGG Granddaughter of Samuel Council, who's mother was the sister of Philip Pledger, Jr., Elizabeth (Pledger) Council, wife of Capt Henry Council of Marlboro Co. S.C. Capt. Council was a revolutionary soldier, as was Philip Pledger. Philip Pledger, Jr.'s daughter Elizabeth's first husband was Jesse Council,(a relative of Henry Council but I do not know the relationship) her second husband was William Terrell, and her third husband was William Fields.
Samuel Council married Frances Hamer, dtr of John HamerV and Mary Hicks on Feb 11, 1791. Samuel died sometime before 1823, but not before he and Frances had two sons.
Jesse S. and William Henry. Frances was still living in Tennessee in 1830. I am hoping that someone in the Philip Pledger, Jr. family can tell me something about Elizabeth Pledger, Philip's, and also if they have any information on Capt. Henry Council.
