Dear Wendy,

Thanks for the reply to my queries.

I'll be visiting my brother Bill over Thanksgiving and hope to get all of the names of my Pleger aunts and uncles at that time. I'll forward same to you when I do.

Of the aunts and uncles in (or from) Erie I remember:

Ottilia Caroline Pleger (married name Brohn), my mom.
Theresa Pleger (married name Brohn), my aunt.

Interesting note here: Both girls married Brohn brothers.
My mom and dad's wedding photo shows Theresa and her husband Herman (Dutch) Brohn as matron of honor and best man!

Eleanor Pleger, my aunt, never married.
Martha Pleger, my aunt, never married.
Lena Pleger (married name Kemmer)
Abraham (Abe) Pleger. His wife still lives in Erie.
Ernie Pleger
Fred Pleger

There was also an uncle (Bill?) who died from the Influenza pandemic while in training camp during WW I.

I think you are right about the Plegers being wanderers.

Lena and Fred ended up in California, and Theresa and Ottilia ended up in Flint, MI, where I was born.

Indeed, all of my sibs are scattered over the US and many of my own kids as well! I think the Pleger wanderlust "gene" is carried even through the present generation!

When I have more information and digitalized photos, I'll send them on.

Fred Brohn
