My gggg-grandfather was Elias PLEICH, the son of Konrad and Margaret PLEICH of Wertheim, Germany. Elias was a Hessian soldier in the American Revolution who served his time in Quebec, Canada and then settled in Quebec City, where he became a shoemaker.

He married Marie-Josephe MENARD in 1784 in Quebec City. Their daughter, Marie-Josephe, married Ignace VILLENEUVE in 1812. Their son, Ignace Gabriel PLEICH, married 1)Angelique TRAHAN in 1812 and 2)Victoire MAUFETTE IN 1814.

Ignace PLEICH and Victoire MAUFETTE had at least eight children... Victoire, Marie, Ignace, Rosalie, Adelaide, Louis, Eleanore and Zoe.

Marie PLEICH, married William Kennedy FALCONBRIDGE in 1842 in Quebec City. She then married Charles PETITCLAIR in 1862, also in Quebec City.

The PLEICH name is also found as Bleich, Bleach, Pleaich and Pleach.
