William John Plog was my Great Grandfather Charles O. Plog's brother. William and Charles emigrated with 13 neighbors, I believe from Medrow, in 1861 by way of Hamburg, arriving at Ellis Island July 3, 1861.

William lived in the Poughkeepsie, New York area. He spent most of his life at Hyde Park, working first for the Delano Roosevelt family and the the Franklin Delano family as a landscape gardener. He and his wife Wilhemina lived on the mansion grounds in a Hansel-and-Gretel type house. The cottage is still there.

That's about all I know of William. I do have a newspaper photo of him on the grounds of Hyde Park.
