Scott, My source is the same as your second one, Plourde Descendants, July 25-25, 1987. I have found the book to be mostly accurate but not complete. For my ancestor, Louis Vincent Plourde, they listed only half of the children.
Suggest that you use the 1900 Federal Census and the 1890 substitute census to verify the names. I had two Louis's in Illinois and it took severtal censuses to verfiy that it was two instead of one person.
My research has been in Illionois/Missouri, so can't cross match you in Maine. Sorry.
