Dear Elise,

I am no expert on Plourdes, but I found one that might be yours in Fidele Theriault's book "Les Familles de Caraquet". There are certainly not that many Plourdes at the time in Gloucester - I guess because it's more of a Quebec name. I found this family on page 408:

Olivier Plourde m. Vitaline Guignard 26 oct 1868 Lameque
Three Children: Marie, Marie Madeleine, Jean born 1873, Xavier.

Census 1901
This Jean Plourde is living with his mother Vitaline

Census 1911
This Jean Plourde is living with his widowed mother Vitaline, wife named Marie and daughters Elisabeth, Philomene and Precile.

Does this sound like your family? If so I can give you the full lineage plus more private information relating to Olivier Plourde.
