Why are YOU questioning WHY anyone is looking for "Indian" ancestery? Why are YOU looking up Plourde? Same reason. People have a curiosity about their past, and for you to question someone else's query is just plain silly. It is part of our history, whether you like it or not. Women died in childbirth, and Native women often took over to nurture the children, often having more children with the "Europeans".
