Dear Carroll,
Thank you for the info. I have a small paper folder written by my grandmother, Elmina (is what she called herself) and a list of names and dates but my mother had told me that Elmina died in Madawaska--I suspect New Brunswick, not Maine. Now, I don't know what is correct since you are the second person to tell me that she died in St. Pascal. My mother was only three when her mom died but I know she went to Madawaska, Me. looking for her grave and didn't find it. This could be the reason. Also, I found your name interesting since Elmina's grandmother was Thecle Miville dit Deschenes and she was married to Jean-Baptiste Hudon dit Beaulieu. Do you think Deschaines is a variation of Deschenes? Thanks again for the super information. lilliangourd@yahoo.com
