The Louis Plourde who married Demerise Boucher on 30 May 1843 in Cacouna, PQ, was the son of Charles Plourde and Anastasie Berube. Louis's descendants remained in Quebec and New Brunswick.
The Louis Plourde of interest to us married Marcelline Gagnon on 9 August 1841 in St-Basile. During that period of time Ste-Luce was a mission of St-Basile. Ste-Luce was subsequently established as a parish in 1849. My great-granfather Germain married Sophie Chasse in St-Luce on 23 April 1871. Thomas married Marie Anne Martin in Ste-Luce on 6 February 1882. Both of my maternal and paternal grandparents were married in Ste-Luce. My mother, Essie Plourde, married my father, Louis Deschaines in Ste Luce on 4 July 1922. I spent a couple of days last year at the Ste-Luce rectory researching and analyzing the baptismal, marriage and burial ledgers. They covered the 150 year existence of the parish.
