In the document,"Marriages at Purton, 1558-1812"--there is a marriage of John Plover to Agnes Telling on October 13, 1574. I don't know whether this is the father of Joane Plover or not, but I suspect that it might be. In the same document, other Gardner marriages are listed, including the marriage of Joane Plover to Stephen Gardiner on October 31, 1614.
