Steve, My side of the Plover's come from Ireland. My Great Grandfather William Issac Plover was born in Co Mayo in 1837. He migraated to Gold Hill, Nevada and worked in the mines. He married Mary Kerigan 1n the 1860's and they had 4 children who surrvived (1 girl died very young). After the mines played out the family moved to Santa Rosa, CA in the 1890's. I am trying to find out where he was born and when and how he came to the US. I went to a Plover Reunion in Charlestown, Ireland on July 4, 1996. I met many Plover's there. There is a Plover reunion every other year usually in New Jersy. Contact Kevin and Sandi McAdam 545 Dorchester DR River Vale, NJ 07675-6171. It may be you are of a different branch of the Plover's. Good Luck. Any information you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.`
