Hello,
My maiden name is Lila Plude. I grew up in upstate NY.
My father and brother still live there. They are in Ticonderoga.
I've been trying to find more information on my background as well.
My fathers, fathers name was: Joseph Plude. He was born in 1892. He married an Iriquois indian lady by the name of Rose Farrow... This may have changed or they Americans could have changed her name. From what I understand her tribe came down from Canada. When they crossed the border, they could have changed her name as well.
Since Ticonderoga is on the border of Vermont, I thought you may have some information.
Joseph Plude married Ora Mae Lafleaur.. Unsure of grammas maiden name :-(.
