I am descended from Israel Taylor and Thirza Plum via their daughter Emily Tryphenia Taylor and her second husband Robert Stephens of Collingwood, Ontario. It is not clear to me how or why there was a Taylor migration to Ontario. Both Emily Taylor and her brother Emerson came to Ontario, while their mother Thirza Plum died there in 1879 - Thirza may have been out in Iowa with her husband Israel but then following his death moved back east to be with family.
I am intrigued to see in this conversation reference to the family bible of Frances Muriel Stephens Findlay of Guelph, Ontario. This is my great-grandmother (my mother's maiden name is Findlay). I had never heard of this family bible until I saw reference to it here.
Does anyone know what happened to it or where it ended up? It certainly did not end up in my family (i.e. children or grandchildren of Roy Findlay and Frances Muriel Stephens). I wonder if it reverted to a family in Collingwood, Ontario.
