The Nancy Arterberry Plumlee that I refer to is listed in the Clay County History Book as the wife of Samuel (Black Sam) Plumlee.
From the Clay Co. Book p.161:
Samuel Plumlee was b. 1825. He was the son of Denton Plumlee b. 1803 and Nancy Johnson Plumlee b. 1806.
Samuel Plumlee married Nancy Arterberry, who was born Sept. 2, 1828.
Samuel and Nancy had the following children: Mary A. b. in 1847; Denton Mack b. 1848 and Martha J. b. 1853.
The exact date of Samuel's death is not known. Nancy died May 22, 1887. They were buried in the Plumlee Family Cemetery on Dry Creek in the Arcot Community.
The Hunter Ray Plumlee that I'm speaking of was my husband's Grandfather.
Hunter was born June 17, 1878 and died Jan. 10, 1951. He was the son of Barton Stone Plumlee b. March 28, 1852 and Permellia Ann Green b. May 16, 1877.
Barton was the son of William F. Plumlee b. Nov. 20, 1825 and Permellia Biggerstaff b. Sept. 1834.
This is the Hunter Ray who is buried next to Alvin Green Plumlee in Clay County, TN.
All of these people with the same name tends to get very confusing.
I should have added these dates to my first posting. My apologies.
