I have been looking for so long for some information on James Plumley.
In the 1860 Tippah county MS it shows a James Plumley age 23 born in SC.
Also listed is Jonathan Plumly age 26 born in SC.
The ages and the birth state are the same as what you have.
Could it be the same James and Jonathan?
James would be my ggg-grandfather. He married an Eliza Doyle in 1860.
But in the 1870 census James is not listed and Eliza and her 4 children are living with her father and family.
I can't figure out what happened to James. Did he die in the war or what. His youngest child was 5 in 1870 so he would have at least lived until 1864 possibly even 1865.
If you have anymore information to share about this family I would certainly appreciate it.
