I have a LEROY PLUMLEE in my records that may be your LEE PLUMLEE. I have him as LEROY PLUMLEE, born March 1866 in Illinois, a son of WILLIAM & PERMELIA J. PLUMLEE.

LEROY PLUMLEE married ELIZABETH EVANS, who was born April 1867 in Kentucky.

WILLIAM & PERMELIA J. PLUMLEE and their family are listed in the 1880 Census for Warren Co., KY (Page 28, Smith's Grove District). LEROY is listed with them in this Census.

The person designated as Mother in the 1900 Census for LEE R. PLUMLEE (Warren Co., KY) is actually the mother of his wife, ELIZABETH EVANS.

LEROY'S father, WILLIAM PLUMLEE, is a son of WILLIAM PLUMLEE & ELIZABETH E. 'BETISIE' MOSS OF Clay Co., Tennessee.

LEROY'S father is listed in the 1860 Census in Overton Co., TN (Dist. #4, Sweet Gum Plains, Page 221). I do not know their location in 1870. His father had an older brother named LEROY S. PLUMLEE, who was born in Clay Co., TN, but lived his adult life in Illinois (Wayne & Richland Counties). I have never been able to find WILLIAM in either of these counties in 1870, but I feel that he is probably either in one of these counties or perhaps in the area of Franklin or Williamson Co., IL (i.e., where other PLUMLEE families settled).

I will send you all the information I have on this branch of the PLUMLEE family to your regular E-mail address. Hope this is your LEE PLUMLEE.

George Sisco
